Visited a tomato farm in Chevella, close to Hyderabad city. Borewell depth in this field at 750 feet is very disturbing. Good to see fields well versed with drip irrigation facilities and cultivation of hybrid tomatoes. However, poor water availability in the region remains a big concern for farmers. Better irrigation practices and development of highly efficient water use crops are the need of time. (Me and Nandkiran in the tomato field).
